從新技術、數位表演藝術到視覺文化實踐,新媒體藝術家及編舞家蘇文琪將推出《謝謝電影神》計畫。藉由變幻及轉譯VR作品《黑洞博物館+身體瀏覽器》到線上放映的介面與模組,蘇文琪將進一步探究3D與2D之間空間維度的劇場性、映像的編碼與變奏及電影藝術的生產與辯證。

如今,將一件表演作品搬遷到線上放映幾乎類同於走進劇場看表演般自然不過,藝術家如何在網路或實體空間媒介端呈身體並接待觀眾,成了不再二元對立的多重宇宙。因此,當蘇文琪反思如何將一種原來具有全景全身感官包覆性的VR觀演經驗重新編碼及解碼成可能平面的影像作品時,「電影神」成了關鍵性的中介與啟示。當「電影神」讓「電影」得以成為當代文化產物,祂同時也啟發了藝術家協商動態影像的藝術在銀幕、映畫、菲林乃至360度VR景觀之間的各種既定的觀影文化、歷史與慣習。

 

因為電影神,影像能再次具有生命,並供應了想像力與身體感,讓映像的劇場性得以穿越立體與平面的幅度與向度。謝謝電影神,讓我們得以見證《黑洞博物館+身體瀏覽器》擴延成一種網路電影的可能。

Transforming and translating a VR work into an online setting of screening, Thank You Movie God is a project by Su Wen-Chi exploring the theatricality and cinematic variations between 3D and 2D filmmaking and coding.

Screening performance works online is no longer any surprise than what we used to take for granted watching shows in theatres. While rethinking how transcoding VR to online screening would make sense, the artist encounters Movie God. As the notion of Movie God suggests, mediums of screen, cinema, film, and 360-degree VR imagery have all coded certain protocols and engagements of spectatorship. And it is because of Movie God, a work of moving image has become possible to embody and flatten cinematic transformation and imagination. Thank you Movie God, Black Hole Museum + Body Browser has gone online.

透過三場不可回放的《謝謝電影神》數位展演事件,蘇文琪呈現《黑洞博物館+身體瀏覽器》的線上擴延電影,並分別與台灣策展人及藝評人—邱誌勇、西班牙天文物理學家—迪亞歌.布拉斯及美國EMPAC實驗媒體和表演藝術中心策展人—艾許莉.菲洛慕瑞,進行映後對談。

本節目包含線上放映,觀賞技術指引由我們的藝術家誠心推薦,希望您在任何情況下都能盡情欣賞作品:
● VR觀賞體驗
(1) 建議網速100Mbps以上。
(2) 建議使用可支援8K串流之PCVR眼鏡
(例:OculusQuest系列最高可支援4K線上串流)。

Online Screening Format: 

Through 3 ephemeral screening events, the artist invites you to experience the expanded cinema of “Black Hole Museum + Body Browser” for online settings. Followed by each of the screenings, the artist will be in conversation with Taiwanese curator and art critic Chih-Yung Aaron Chiu, Spanish astrophysicist Diego Blas and Curator of EMPAC Ashley Ferro-Murray.

  • Technical guidelines recommended by the artist to best experience this work:

    ● VR experience
    (1) Recommended network speed 100Mbps or above.
    (2) Recommend using PC VR headset which support 8K streaming (e.g., OculusQuest series can support up to 4K streaming).
    (3) Headphones are recommended.

    ● 3D experience
    (1) 3D glasses are required.
    (2) Headphones are recommended.

    ● 2D experience
    (1) Please use your personal computer.
    (2) Headphones are recommended.

《謝謝電影神》為臺北表演藝術中心委託作品,與臺灣當代文化實驗場及一當代舞團共同合作,為臺北表演藝術中心開幕季節目及2022 BLEED數位現場雙年展參展作品。

 

BLEED數位現場雙年展 (BLEED – a biennial live event in the everyday digital) 由坎貝爾敦市議會及墨爾本市議會發想,並由坎貝爾敦藝術中心及墨爾本藝術之家策劃辦理。

 

2022年,第二屆BLEED由澳洲聯合創辦機構聯盟臺北表演藝術中心與台北當代藝術館共同製作及呈現。
